Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle was joined by Orland Park Mayor Dan McLaughlin and representatives of the Chicago Auto Show to launch the “Commit to Cook” campaign encouraging residents to support Cook County businesses while engaging the business community to spur economic development. The 2011 Annual Action Plan describes the second year activities, programs and resources available to address the priority needs and specific objectives identified in the five-year strategic plan of Cook County’s Consolidated Community Development Plan.
The Consolidated Plan serves as a comprehensive planning document for suburban Cook County and provides the basis for receiving federal funds under the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Community Planning and Development formula grant programs, including the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, the HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME), and the Emergency Shelter Grant Program (ESG).
